These patchworked collage paintings tell a story of the life and times of this artist. Frustrated for eons with the multiple personalities of artists living inside her, and full of wanderlust for all things arty, Jan Avellana’s 'EUREKA!' moment in the studio came when she decided to piece all of her loves together into one composition. Out of this, she is able to work out on paper, with paint in words and images her becoming, and the Patchworked Stories series was born!
